TOBANGOU
A GROWING VILLAGE OUTSIDE OF NIAMEY CITY LIMITS
THE ABOVE PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN 2018 ON THE DAY THE DRILLING RIG ARRIVED IN TOBANGOU.
THE SITE WAS SELECTED BECAUSE IT WAS ALONGSIDE A DIRT PATH THAT RECEIVES HEAVY FOOT TRAFFIC, PLUS THE SITE IS CLOSE TO THE CHURCH BUILDING, AND THE LARGE WEST AFRICAN BAOBAB TREE OFFERS SHADE TO THE PUMP SITE. THIS SITE ALSO SEEMED TO BE IDEAL FOR THE LOCAL HERDSMEN BECAUSE IT WOULD OFFER WATER TO CATTLE THAT MAY BE GRAZZING IN THE FEILD NEARBY.
