The average round-trip distance to a water source in Niger is 3.7 miles with temperatures that climb into the triple digits. After the water is collected, each jerry can weighs close to forty pounds; adding to the struggle of their return journey. Once home, the foul/tainted water perpetuates the cycle of disease, illiteracy, poverty, and hopelessness.

Our goal is to drill enough wells in Niger so that the round-trip distance to a fresh, clean source of drinking water is only a one mile journey.

Various estimates have shown that Niger needs approximately ten-thousand wells.

The best part about providing a fresh, clean source of drinking water is that it breaks the cycle of disease, illiteracy, poverty, and hopelessness; ushering in an era of increased health, education, income, & optimism.
